Producer ‘career’ Jontey (original name – Joonas Ylitalo, 22) started at 2002, when I first time tried to arrange a simple 2-step beat together. Passionate producing came few years after I had learned how EQ’ing works and how important sonic balance is in a mixdown. My musical background consists few years of playing piano and learning music theory. Music production is so far only a hobby for me, releasing material has never been my goal.

My music is mainly based on soulful melodies, rolling ravedrums and mellow atmospheres. The main idea I usually try to achieve in a tune is that it sounds groovy and tries to catch the listener with something emotional and comforting in it. Tune has to sound good no matter where you are listening to it from. Drum’n'bass has always been the bullet in my head though many other genres are likely too.  I am constantly widening my view’s to other genres aswell. Good example is the latest project, a house collaboration with DJ Flight.

Currently I am collecting improvisation out of everything. Having fun in the studio and diggin breathtaking samplebits still keep me passionate to what I’m doing.

Flight & Jontey discovered the professional producing in the beginning of the 2008. They tried out different things and the main thing was the club house. Few moments later guys noticed that they both wanted to keep the sound energitic and diverse. Beautiful melodies and groovy drums.

But there is also the other side with ruff basslines and rocking guitars. That’s why it’s hard to describe the sound of Flight & Jontey. It’s easier to say: Flight & Jontey – Glamour Sound For The Floor!
