I decided to come into this web2.0 world and made myself this blog-a-like website, so that i can easily update my doings somewhere. Basically the bottom idea of this site is to be one of my promotion channels. Under 01 Jontey you can find all the stuff that is related to drum+bass, I also updated my biography little bit. 02 Flight & Jontey is all related to housestuff. Later i may start bloggin and adding some artwork here aswell. Currently you can find here all the stuff that happens in my studiolife, including my collaboration project with Dj Flight. I have never been very active promoting myself so i decided to do something for that by making this site. I’m also thinking about sending some of my stuff to labels too. My drum+bass production has suffered some inflation LAST year because i got bored and other genres started to interest me. Im planning to start producing some dnb-bits again though. I recently made a new tune called “No Matter” as you probably noticed in the beginning of the post. First promopictures of me has also been shot. Huge thanks from the pics goes to Joni Ylistö. Biography // Jontey

From the beginning of 90’s rave stuff till todays club culture, electronic music has always influenced my life somehow. I really got into electronic music after hearing some artists like Prodigy, Dj Shadow, Amon Tobin and realised it was the breakbeat that combined those artists. Between all commercial and non-commercial music cultures, I found Drum&Bass. This was the beginning of my search in music and art.

Producer ‘career’ Jontey (original name – Joonas Ylitalo, 22) started at 2002, when I first time tried to arrange a simple 2-step beat together. Passionate producing came few years after I had learned how EQ’ing works and how important sonic balance is in a mixdown. My musical background consists few years of playing piano and learning music theory. Music production is so far only a hobby for me, releasing material has never been my goal.

My music is mainly based on soulful melodies, rolling ravedrums and mellow atmospheres. The main idea I usually try to achieve in a tune is that it sounds groovy and tries to catch the listener with something emotional and comforting in it. Tune has to sound good no matter where you are listening to it from. Drum’n'bass has always been the bullet in my head though many other genres are likely too. I am constantly widening my view’s to other genres aswell. Good example is the latest project, a house collaboration with DJ Flight.

Currently I am collecting improvisation out of everything. Having fun in the studio and diggin breathtaking samplebits still keep me passionate to what I’m doing.

K-System Remix – Second Edition

In early 2009 we released a remix on K-System ‘Devil Without The Horns’ -single. Now there is a second edition of that remix available on K-System’s ‘10th Anniversary Compilation’.

The single is still rocking in finnish dance chart & night clubs. Anniversary compilation is already in top of finnish album chart. Nice! Congrats belongs to Kimmo!
